PART 1 – GENERAL
1.01 SECTION REQUIREMENTS
A. Submittals: Product Data
B. Regulatory Requirements:
1. ADA compliant: Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the single most important piece of legislation to
improve the lives of people with disabilities.
2. Energy Star compliant: Meets the energy efficiency requirements set forth in ENERGY STAR product
specifications.
3. NFPA: Provide electrical appliances listed and labeled as defined in NFPA 70, Article 100, by a testing
agency acceptable to authorities having jurisdiction, and marked for intended use.
4. UL and NEMA: Provide electrical components required as part of residential appliances that are listed
and labeled by UL and that comply with applicable NEMA standards.
5. NAECA: Provide residential appliances that comply with NAECA standards.

A. Built-in Appliances: Securely anchor to supporting cabinetry or countertops with concealed fasteners. Verify that
clearances are adequate for proper functioning and rough openings are completely concealed.
B. Freestanding Appliances: Place in final locations after finishes have been completed in each area. Verify that
clearances are adequate to properly operate equipment.
C. Verify that accessories required have been furnished and installed.
D. Test each product to verify proper operation. Make necessary adjustments.
E. Find parts at Sears Parts Direct, if needed.
